Smaller than other dromaeosaurids like Deinonychus and Achillobator, Velociraptor was about 1.5–2.07 m (4.9–6.8 ft) long with a body mass around 14.1–19.7 kg (31–43 lb). It nevertheless shared many of the same anatomical features. Velociraptor was somewhat smaller and somewhat lighter than modern adult human beings. The largest members of the genus grew up to length of 1.8 metres (6 feet), which is comparable to the height of a an adult male human, but they probably weighed no more than 45 kg (100 pounds). For a dinosaur that's often mentioned in the same breath as Tyrannosaurus rex, Velociraptor was remarkably puny. This meat-eater weighed only approximately 30 pounds soaking wet (about the same as a normal-sized human toddler) and..
When comparing sizes, a person would find themselves eye to eye with a Velociraptor, as both reach about 1.8 meters (6 feet) in length. However, with a weight of around 45 kg (100 pounds), these ancient predators were lighter, reflecting their agile nature. Velociraptor ( meaning "swift thief") is an extinct genus of dromaeosaurid theropod dinosaur that existed approximately 83 to 70 million years ago during the later part of the Cretaceous Period. There is only one universally recognized species, V. mongoliensis, although others have been... Velociraptor, often called ‘raptor,’ is an extinct genus of dromaeosaurid theropod dinosaur that roamed the earth around 85.8 to 70.6 million years ago – during the end of the Cretaceous Period. Velociraptors were smaller than other dromaeosaurids, but they had several similar anatomical features. Velociraptor is the best known of the dromaeosaurids with the largest number of complete skeletons recovered. Velociraptor entered popular culture in a big way in the 1993 blockbuster movie Jurassic park, as well as subsequent sequels. Velociraptor was a small dinosaur, measuring about 2 meters (6.5 feet) in length and weighing around 15 kilograms (33 pounds). It had a long, stiff tail, a large sickle-shaped claw on each foot, and a relatively large brain compared to other dinosaurs of similar size. A typical velociraptor measured around 6 feet (1.8 meters) in length, while the average human stands at approximately 5.6 feet (1.7 meters) tall. This size comparison highlights the relatively diminutive nature of the velociraptor in relation to humans.
